The Most Iconic Goals In World Football...

OK... Now there are always decent goals scored every week, some from 30 yards out, others well set up team goals and some pieces of technical brilliance. But if you look through the history of the beautiful game some have managed to etch their place in the history of the game, I'm going to share some of my favourites with you guys today.

1. Legendary Technical Brilliance.

Zenidine Zidane the greatest Frenchman to ever kick a ball and this was probably his best kick... Champions League Final 2002 Real Madrid facing off with surprise package German side Bayer Leverkusen. The first half was fairly even until this moment of divine technical wizardry from his "weaker" left foot. It was on Europe's biggest stage for Europe's biggest club.

2. How Many Passes?

Its a World Cup 2006 group game Argentina the favourites to win the tournament are up against Serbia and Montenegro. There are 24 passes in this move showing patience and understanding of when to strike. Most teams would've tried to play a hopeful ball forward by the tenth pass and given away possession. Remember this is an international side not a club side who play and train together week in week out.

3. Did He Mean It?

Ronaldinho vs England 2006 World Cup, do you think he meant it? I think he did.

4. What Would Happen if Boots were Magnetic and Footballs were Metal?

Its England against Argentina, just like the Falkland but with a different ending... Diego Armando Maradona feared and reviled by the English, loved and respected by Argentinians. This was a quarter final of the 1986 World Cup finals in the heat of Mexico, English defenders were put to the sword by El Diego.

5. The Greatest Team Score The Greatest Goal.

I don't know what to say about this goal.  I think it was perfect...

What do you think? Any other suggestions?
